NPL is the UK’s National Measurement Institute, developing and maintaining the national primary measurement standards. It is a Public Corporation owned by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
We undertake excellent science, research and engineering to deliver impact for the UK manufacturing sector. Our 120 year history is populated with significant developments and break-throughs that have benefitted UK prosperity and/or quality of life.
Our Manufacturing and Training Team are all ex-industry and as such have experience in many manufacturing processes and many measurement processes. We have real experience of issues existing in SME’s, and we have considerable experience in their solutions. Additionally, we have circa 600 world-leading measurement scientists behind us, should we need them.
